Iron Wire Flat Key Ring Manufacturing Process

1. Wire Selection & Cutting
   
   
   Select high-quality iron wire with specified diameter (matched to the 25*19.5mm ring size requirement). Use automatic wire cutting machines to cut the iron wire into fixed-length segments according to the circumference of the flat key ring. The wire length is calculated precisely to ensure the final ring meets the size standard after forming.
2. Flat Pressing Forming
   
   
   First, pass the cut iron wire segments through a cold pressing machine to flatten the round wire into a flat wire strip of uniform thickness. Then, feed the flat wire into a customized mold of a ring-forming machine. The machine bends the flat wire into a circular shape, and the two ends of the wire are overlapped slightly to form the preliminary flat ring structure.
3. Gap Processing (Split Ring Making)
   
   
   For split type flat key rings, use a precision slotting machine to cut a small, even gap at the overlapping position of the ring. The gap size is controlled strictly to ensure the ring can be opened smoothly for hanging keys, and will not deform easily during use.
4. Surface Treatment
   
   
   Iron has poor corrosion resistance, so surface treatment is a critical step:
   • Derusting & Degreasing: Clean the flat key ring with alkaline cleaning agents and derusting solutions to remove oil stains, iron filings and rust spots on the surface.
   • Plating: Common plating processes include nickel plating, zinc plating or chrome plating. The plating layer forms a protective film on the iron surface to prevent rust and improve the ring’s appearance.
   • Optional Coloring: For customized needs, perform electroplating coloring (such as black, gun color) after basic plating to enhance product aesthetics.
5. Stamping & Customization (Optional)
   
   
   If the key ring needs a stamped logo (as per the previous product title), place the formed flat ring on a precision stamping machine with customized dies. Use a stamping process to press logos, text or patterns onto the flat surface of the ring. This step is usually done after plating to ensure the stamped pattern is clear and does not damage the protective layer.
6. Polishing & Deburring
   
   
   Use polishing machines (grinding wheel polishing or ultrasonic polishing) to remove burrs and sharp edges from the ring’s surface and gap. This step ensures the key ring is smooth to the touch and prevents scratching of keys or hands during use.
7. Quality Inspection & Packaging
   • Dimension Check: Verify that the key ring size meets the 25*19.5mm standard with calipers.
   • Performance Test: Test the split ring’s elasticity and closure tightness to ensure it does not deform or break easily.
   • Appearance Inspection: Check for plating defects (peeling, bubbles, uneven color) and stamping clarity.
   • Packaging: Pack qualified key rings in plastic bags or cardboard boxes, ready for storage or shipment.
